En el presente artículo, el autor tiene como objetivo discutir la "diversidad cultural" como discurso global de las elites comprometidas con la cooperación internacional y la gobernanza global; en una era de globalización intensificada, estos escenarios están frecuentemente enmarcados por discursos que plantean choques entre civilizaciones o por el contrario, que alaban la diversidad cultural como la piedra angular del diálogo intercultural. El autor analizará y confrontará dichos discursos
