This work aims to analyze the scientific narratives produced between the late eighteenth and early twentieth century on the Amazonian Northwest and the peoples who were there. The main questions about these narratives are: How did the scientific discourse over time produce certain images about the region for a large audience? How do these images change over time and with different approaches? And, how do the images produced by scientific discourse in the centuries analyzed relate to the current perspective
