The main goal of this research is to know the foremost issues of cultural practices of young metalworkers in ABC region in Greater São Paulo. In other words, to apprehend the perceptions of this specific juvenile experience.Cultural practices and its purposes (for instance, how the free time is managed) just can be understood if we explain the way of life of the social group and its position in social hierarchy. Our focus are the young metalworker in (i) automobile manufacturers (Mercedes-Benz) and (ii) in auto parts factories (Itaesbra), these two branches of the metal industry comprise workers who has an unequal access to material and symbolic goods. This dissertation believes culture is a set of values and meanings expressed by social rituals and behaviors. We also state that being a worker in ABC region holds a specificity able to develop a "common frame" which shapes a working class identity: practices, attitudes and behaviors that evince a specific culture. The methodology was qualitative through 06 semi-structured interviews with three capital questions: 1) Who are and how live the young metalworker in ABC region?; 2) What are the specificities of this group and, especially, regarding the cultural practices?; 3) How they manage the free time? Finally, we seek to answer: what they wait for the future?Living in ABC region, culturally the young metalworkers are not homogeneous: it was identified social and economic inequalities, besides the symbolic dimension. We observed four typologies that compose the way of life of these young metalworkers: 1) Meritocrat 2) Naturalist 3) Political 4) Ethics. This means they have not enough lifetime leisure, are usually working and this confirm the work centrality
