Las artes de la Inquisición española de Reinaldo González de Montes

El presente artículo intenta definir los contextos políticos, filosóficos, religiosos y confesionales de la obra de Montes, considerada el máximo exponente de la literatura hispana protestante del siglo xvi. Pretende señalar las premisas para la formación del protestantismo castellano y sus escritos y especificar cómo éstos, a su vez, permitieron la creación de un texto que cuestiona los fundamentos ideológicos de la Monarquía fiispana que se define e identifica por el catolicismo romano, defendido por ella con un instrumento político poderoso, la Inquisición.The present article aims to define the political, philosophiical, religious and confessional contexts of Monte's writing, considered the maximum representative of sixteenth-century Hispanic Protestant literature. We attempt to point out the premises of the formation of Castilian Protestantism and its writings, as well as to explaln how these, on their part, permitted the creation of a text that questions the ideological foundations of Hispanic monarchy, defined and identified by Roman Catholicism, which is defended by a powerful political instrument, the Inquisition
