This article studies the russian revolutions and the first phase of the History of the USSR through the analysis of films from the Soviet cinema itself. In addition to the discussions surrounding the 1917 revolutions, the article raises issues such as historiography, film and propaganda, "cultural revolution" and artistic movements during the 1920s.Covering a period extending from 1917 to 1930, this narrative is the result of studies in the field of cinema-history relations: how cinema interferes in history and how it carries traces of its time-space of production, becoming a historical document.Through a "serial" approach of film sources associated with bibliographical reflections, it is intended to obtain a panoramic view of this historical period, searching for different forms of research, approach, problematization and analysis of the historical processes
