This is a text that reflects on the historical course of scientific publication and the Brazilian University, in particular the case of Margens: Revista Interdisciplinary, which in 2021 completed 15 years of scientific publication and which over these years sought to consolidate itself as a journal scientific reference for the studies of humanities, letters and arts.At the same time, the magazine is positioned as an instrument of resistance article against public policies that disqualify Brazilian science and devalue the scientific production that are found on the margins and peripheries of the great centers of power, including the intellectual.The effort to transform Margens: Interdisciplinary Magazine into the first UFPA journal to be registered on the Cite Factor and, therefore, to be evaluated by the impact factor, undoubtedly proves the important work developed by researchers, technicians and students who, over these 15 years has been dedicated to publishing a periodical with international circulation, open, public and free
