In this essay we reflect on some of the theoretical concepts of Norbert Elias and Michel Foucault, especially as regards the use of the notion of power as a structuring and central concept in their respective theoretical productions and set of broader socio-philosophical reflections. In the first part of the text, we quickly outlined some biographical and bibliographical data of the authors. In the second part of the text, in turn, we discussed, in a relational form, how and in what way these authors have built their theories about the structure civilized/ modern disciplinary society under the comprehensive scrutiny of the "power" category
