The Adauto Botelho Psychiatric Hospital in Goiânia - Goiás was the object of occasional scientific-historiographical undertakings among which Paula (2011), Rego Santos (2020), Barreto (2018) stand out. All of them recognize that the limits of their own clippings were imposed by the difficulties of access to the own and internal archives of this extinct institution. In the face of all this research, what can be seen is still a set of traces that can be explored. Following the traces left behind, I analyze how this institution is represented during the period of the Military Business Dictatorship. The sources are from periodicals from the period between 1964-1984, which show how this institution became a practically abandoned place whose function was basically the internment of the poor, a position contrary to the provisions of human rights
