Building from the notion that the geophysics of the Brazilian northeastern backwoods and cost have influenced composer Oswaldo de Souza (1904Souza ( -1995)), who is originally from Rio Grande do Norte, this dissertation examines songs by Oswaldo de Souza and Waldemar Henrique in order to find aspects they have in common, listing geophysical elements of the northern and northeastern parts of Brazil relevant to both composers
