The present dissertation aimed to understand the agency of Black individuals in the construction of space and spatiality of citizenship in the literary production of Carolina Maria de Jesus. The concept of "Black cities'' was utilized as an analytical category to comprehend the actions and connections of Black people in (re)constructing identities and cultural elements through the establishment of social spaces. The analytical-interpretative method (KARAM, 2017) was employed to guide the approach to Carolina's literary production with the law, incorporating literary analysis as a data collection tool. This research focused on the following books: "Diário de Bitita", "Quarto de despejo: diário de uma favelada" e "Casa de Alvenaria: Osasco," and "Casa de alvenaria: Santana."The analytical category, "Black cities," enabled us to understand and examine data from the literary analysis of the law.By employing the concept of self-constructed law, it became possible to comprehend individual and collective daily actions in the self-determination of the collective subject in Carolina Maria de Jesus's literary production
