This dissertation maps and analyzes the network of actors involved in the debates on the Amazon fires between August and October 2019 on YouTube.During this period, the theme "Amazon" occupied a prominent position in the press and social media due to the fires that occurred in the largest tropical forest in the world; a fact that ended up revealing the historical interests that involve the Amazon region.Amidst this context and during the same period, YouTube assumed a preponderant role in the dissemination of (mis)information about the fires and deforestation.Consequently, the video sharing platform became a stage for disputes between various institutional and independent actors who sought to demarcate their political positions and influence public opinion.Through the method of Cartography of Controversies, this study mapped the main actors who engaged in the debate about the Amazon on YouTube and the arguments disseminated by them, aiming to understand the dynamics of disinformation in digital platforms. The chronology of events related to fires and deforestation in the Amazon Forest in 2019 was based on bibliographic research in widely circulated newspapers in Brazil. To map the main arguments (information and disinformation) that circulated on YouTube, qualitative analyzes were carried out on the most viewed videos about fires in the Amazon Forest that were published during the researched period.Analysis of the behavior of the recommendation algorithms was also carried out through data extracted through the YouTube API v3 in order to identify which types of videos were most recommended by the platform. The results obtained showed that disinformation occupied a preponderant space among the most viewed videos and that YouTube algorithms prioritized the recommendation of videos published by disinformation channels of the Brazilian far-right
