Tourism, from the perspective of production, is one of the most versatile forms of accumulation and expansion of capital, with its ability to transform spaces, economies and customs, and its various classes of stakeholders.In the Northeast of Brazil, actions for tourism development, seeking to align local spaces with global spaces, have led to conflicts of interest between business owners and residents in Ceará.The local communities expressed resistance, coming together and building a tourism based on traditional activities, the environment and local customs, which forms the basis of Community Based Tourism.Through bibliographic and document research, it sought to register the context of localities in Ceará affected by tourism and globalized by Community Tourism, highlighting the changes and challenges in the development of tourism.As a result, it was seen that although communities in Ceará that receive globalized tourism have accumulated losses with the model developed, government policies continue to cite it as a premise for stimulating tourism.Even so, in Ceará, the articulation of these communities, which culminated in the formation of a network, the Rede Cearense de Turismo Comunitário (Rede Tucum) [Ceará CommunityTourism Network] has disseminated knowledge and expertise and strengthened the proposal built
