The media are a form of popular cultural expression but in the present context of media conglomerates, the print and electronic media become forces of subtle and overt control and orientation of popular expression. They operate alongside local private entities representing local interests. This paper examines the various forms of ownership of the Caribbean media and draws conclusions based on the findings
