The urban-architectural production associated with the Modern Movement and its derivations constitutes part of the cultural legacy of today's cities. It is essential to bring it closer to the dynamics of tourism in order to advance in its recognition by society, as well as to promote the decongestion of those heritage sites that are saturated with visitors. The main objective is to analyse the protection of this heritage within the urban planning of each Andalusian capital. This is due to the fundamental role that this tool plays in safeguarding the heritage of each municipality. A detailed review of the catalogues included in the urban planning, in addition to the protection at regional level, reveals the prevailing under-protection which would mean the loss of part of the modern Andalusian legacy. Their inclusion in the tourist offer could reverse the aforementioned lack of social recognition. As a result, it could lead to greater protection by the competent public administrations
