The implementation of the Pueblos Magicos Programme (PPM) in Mexico is producing profound transformations in tourist destinations and in the lifestyles of intervening social agents. The objective of the research was to analyse various theoretical and methodological contributions of the stakeholder- -centred approach, to design an analysis framework that would allow understanding of the PPM as a planned intervention, and its impact on the social interface, lifestyles and participation of the stakehold- ers. Methodologically, a review of the specialised literature and the analysis-synthesis method were used to specify the categories of analysis. As a result, an analysis framework is presented, which allows for the perspective of the stakeholders involved to be reflected and their response in general to the programme. It is concluded that this framework is valid toward understanding the PPM as a planned intervention, the transformation processes that it generates and the strategies that the stakeholders develop to face the challenges that tourism entails
