Y en qué lugar se enamoró de ti? Inmigración internacional y endogamia conyugal

Fent servir les dades de l’Enquesta Nacional d’Immigrants de 2007, aquest article té dos objectius: a) examinar els nivells d’endogàmia de la població immigrada a Espanya que va formar parella després de la migració, b) analitzar la variació dels nivells d’endogàmia segons la situació de la parella i l’edat en el moment de l’arribada. Els resultats mostren diferències importants en funció del col·lectiu d’immigrants. Els africans són els més endògens, seguits dels homes de l’Europa Oriental i l’Amèrica Llatina. Les dones d’aquests orígens, en canvi, s’uneixen en més d'un 50 % amb homes espanyols. D’altra banda, aproximadament quatre de cada cinc immigrants de l’Europa Occidental ho fan amb un cònjuge espanyol. En funció del criteri per seleccionar els immigrants, els nivells d’endogàmia varien. Les dades analitzades suggereixen que l’edat d’arribada es pot utilitzar com una variable de filtre quan no és possible conèixer la situació conjugal dels immigrants en el moment de l’arribada. Com més joves són, menys possibilitats hi ha que hagin format parella abans de la migració.
