Teorias do Jornalismo; Trabalho; Subsunção; Teoria Crítica; Economia Política da ComunicaçãoThis paper intends to present a possible interdisciplinarity between Journalism Theories and Political Economy of Communications. Researchers linked to the theoretical framework called newsmaking have analyzed the daily work of journalists. Thus, they were able to point out the reasons why the news is as it is. However, these scholars gave little attention to the labor category and to the fact that journalists' work is subsumed to capital. Our proposal is to take the category of work as a center, to look at the journalist as a worker and, at the same time, to incorporate some theoretical findings of newsmaking studies intending to build what we call the Critical Theory of Journalism.Journalism Theories; Labor; Subsumption; Critical Theory; Political Economy of Communication
