A retrospective analysis of 411 medical records of patients with diagnosed community-acquired pneumonia and treated in an in-patient department in 2010-201 1 has been carried out. Morbidity and mortality data in the Arkangelsk region have been also analyzed. It has been found that the incidence rate and hospital mortality in our region were at the national level and the mortality rate exceeded that. The patients with community-acquired pneumonia were predominantly persons older than 45 years. The proportion of severe community-acquired pneumonia in the hospital was 27 %. Chronic alcoholism accompanied 57 % of the severe pneumonia cases
