Hohokam Classic period mural portions observed and sketched by Jesse Walter Fewkes in 1908 at Casa Grande Ruins National Monument are presented and discussed. This rare view of Hohokam wall art is a small but significant example of Hohokam artistic endeavor not often preserved in the archaeological record in southern Arizona. Four colors were used and the designs illustrated here are probably from the side of an unusual burial “cyst.” The design on one mural portion is a common design in Southwestern art and may indicate that Hohokam wall artists were participants in a widespread tradition
