A complete Clovis point was recently discovered during a U.S. National Park Service surface inventory survey of Wupatki National Monument. The point is described in terms of the location of its discovery, its context, and its attributes. It is suggested that Clovis hunters in the Wupatki area might have pursued either mammoth or bison, perhaps by driving them into the numerous grabens and box canyons in the upland zone, or by ambushing them at predictable gathering points such as watering holes. The Wupatki Clovis point extends the known range of Clovis-age remains on the Colorado Plateau, and suggests that the area between the San Francisco Mountains and the Little Colorado River might be a promising zone for the discovery of additional sites
