This work analyzes the processes undergone by the new generations of Argentines Jews of Syrian origin in Buenos Aires, from the 60s until today. Particularly, the trajectories of those who are distanced from orthodox beliefs and predominant practices in central community entities. We describe a broad spectrum of life stories collected through ninety interviews, that contradict the rooted presumptions of the supposed homogeneity of Jews of Syrian origin. They are paradigmatic stories that highlight the heterogeneous experiences of those with ancestors from Aleppo or Damascus, distanced or on the sidelines of the Jewish community associations
