In the beginning of the lunar 10th month of this year, my mother went downtown and bought back several catties of paper money to burn for her dead ancestors. At the moment of her return, I was so angry that I was unable to speak a word. All at once, I tore into pieces these superstitious things she had brought back. Mother was very sad. She did not eat food for a few days, nor did she speak to me. Later on, some of my fellow commune members learned of this incident and said that I was a fool. They were cold whenever they saw me. I was very distressed because of this incident. What, after all, should I do when my mother is engaged in superstitious activities
