We need to study and assimilate Western theories of anthropology, but with discrimination. We need to absorb the best of each school of thought, learn from the experience of others, study the actuality of China, and establish China's own academic system from our own practice in our own country. We need to advance new theories and new methods crystallized from the Chinese experience to guide research into the Chinese situation and to foster independent scientists who will use this theory to research the Chinese situation
