Our investigation in Daxin county in the suburbs of Beijing shows that the most pronounced feature of marital migration is the absolute majority of females, whose ratio to males is 100:4. In other words, the marital migration in Beijing's suburbs is actually the migration of females. Besides, their age structure is also concentrated in the younger age group. Some 97.8 percent of the female marital migrants are between 20 and 29, and the same holds for 82.0 percent of the males
