This article presents the updated and revised version of the three pronged model of community intervention--locality development, social action, and social planning/policy--introduced in the first edition of Strategies of Community Intervention (1968). It provides a recent elaboration of that model into a paradigm of community intervention that illustrates the interweaving of the basic models and the types of interventions that result from the mixed forms. Dilemmas inherent in each core model are analyzed
