Au Levant Sud, le mobilier en pierre a eu une importance majeure depuis l’Épipaléolithique. Toutefois, les études comparatives sur le sujet restent limitées et la recherche sur les installations creusées dans la roche est quasiment inexistante. Dans cet article, un système de classification de ces aménagements (et du mobilier en pierre) est proposé pour la première fois pour les périodes de l’Épipaléolithique récent au PPNA. Une méthodologie exhaustive, ciblée sur la fonction des outils de pierre et comprenant des analyses de terrain ainsi qu’un nouveau système d’enregistrement, est détaillée. L’utilisation d’un système de classifi cation à la fois général et homogène de ces outils, adaptés aux périodes préhistoriques et historiques, devrait permettre l’enregistrement systématique des données, fondamental pour les études futures
