Raphal Confiant speaks of his literary formation, his experiences in founding the KAPES KREYOL and the paradoxes of inhabiting a diglossic society. Focusing on early Creole work with Grif an t and closely probing the labels of francaisbananeand crole-dragon, the interview explores Confiant's approach to the interplay between Creole and French. There is further questioning of comments made by Confiant at the Salon du Livre 2006, Francofffonies , and the author also offers perspectives on his literary work, delivered with characteristic frankness and good humour
