Cellphones are increasingly important in tourism in recent years, playing a significant role in consumption. The present research analyses the factors associated with the behaviour of cellphone tourists in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, using a questionnaire technique applied to 600 tourists who used cellphone applications during the trip. Through an exploratory factor analysis, three main indicators were found for the behaviour of cellphone tourists: they use their cellphones to organise their journey; they interact with the destination to establish their first impressions and access the available services; during the journey they shop with their smartphone and interact with social media platforms, to learn from the experience of other travelers and, at the end of the trip, theyusually leave opinions with respect to the places visited. The cellphone tourists seeks control and independence in their tourism choices and are in constant interaction with the destination as they search for products and places adapted o their needs and conveniences
