Going digital is a challenge to the functioning of the social sciences in all their aspects, including their methods, categories, paradigms, theoretical orientations and their objects of study. Some see therein new possibilities, others a threat, possibly fatal. A further question to be considered concerns the issues of power and domination which going digital may conceal, or could give rise to, within the social sciences themselves
