El objetivo de este texto es contextualizar la inmigración latinoamericana a Portugal, que presenta características de diversos sistemas migratorios (ibérico, latinoamericano, lusófono) usando como ejemplo el caso de los brasileños. Este caso revela, por un lado, la compleja relación que Brasil y Portugal tienen como consecuencia de las antiguas relaciones coloniales y de las múltiples migraciones en ambos sentidos; y, por otro, la influencia y modus operandi de las redes sociales a partir de una etnografía multisituada en origen y destino. El análisis de los flujos y de su inserción en el mercado de trabajo y de las redes sociales permite abordar el doble entorno de las migraciones ilustrando el papel que juegan dichas redes en la integración de los brasileños en la sociedad de acogida. El abordaje a las redes sociales asume múltiples facetas que incluyen la informalidad/formalidad de las mismas, las diferencias de género y las formas de solidaridad y reciprocidad étnica
