What are the dynamics that affect the link between organizations (both business and non-profit) and their capacity to help develop 'sense of place' in communities? Based on a grounded-theory qualitative study researchers investigated the critical variables whose nexus of interactions influence organizational establishment of SOP. This paper will advance a model that illustrates this dynamic through the Place Based Network (PBN) model. The PBN is a foundation for an interpretation of how community sense of place is socially constructed, and it recognizes the role organizations play in developing intentions and the meanings organizations may create in their community
