Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) provide a unique case for looking at territorialization. Oceans, unlike terrestrial territories, offer new challenges for exploring the ways that power over space can be configured. While this paper draws from a wider analysis of a specific case in the Bahamas that will be forthcoming in other papers, this paper seeks to draw attention to theoretical considerations about territorialization by using MPAs as a particular form, rather than focus on the specific cas
