The problem of the beginning of the †Jastorfâ€TM settlements in the archaeologi-cal landscapes of eastern Poland remain highly debatable topics, as do their exact chronological position, the process of expansion and its causes and evo-lution. At the beginning of the La TĂ ̈ne period, eastern Poland was charac-terised by a dense distribution of sites the Pomeranian culture; occasionally, there were sporadic imports from the La TĂ ̈ne culture, e.g. various types of iron and bronze Dux-type brooches from the Lt B1b-c phase and probably Lt B2a. †Post-Pomeranianâ€TM settlement, related to the Jastorf culture, consists mainly – based on the current state of research“ of surface finds and sources from small test excavations. There are very few large settlements that have been fully explored. This settlement is geographically limited to the Hru-bieszĂłw Basin and neighboring regions along this part of Poland's eastern border. The earliest findings, which show an †initial phaseâ of the „Jastorfâ„ effects, or rather the cultural influences from the north-western Baltic Sea region, can be dated to the older pre-Roman Iron Age, but at the earliest to the end of the Lt B2 stage and the transition phase Lt B2/C1. However, such finds form only a thin veil in eastern Poland, with isolated evidence that can only be evaluated to a limited extent in terms of cultural development. The small number of the oldest evidence shows that it was by no means associa-ted with greater mobility. It seems that they also appear with a certain time lag compared to the Jastorf-influenced findings in central Poland. The main wave of north-western influences only became apparent in the east in the late pre-Roman Iron Age
