This article explores how Hegel’s ethics of recognition and its contemporary trajectories shed light on the recognition of minorities’ religions in a post-secular society by considering Hegel’s view and the Hegelian approaches of Habermas and Taylor. Hegel’s ethics of recognition is helpful for overcoming identity politics in the context of the recognition of minorities’ religions, since it allows room for the multiple dimensions of recognition to identify agreements and differences and the structure of recognition in the relationship between religion and the state. Habermas and Taylor develop two different Hegelian approaches to multidimensional recognition by focusing on perspectival exchanges (Habermas) and social conceptions of the good (Taylor) when addressing the recognition of minorities’ religions in the post-secular democratic state
