The energy transition to renewables is a global trend, with several countries around the world committing to achieve net-zero carbon emissions in the power sector by 2050. This paper investigates the feasibility of achieving a 100 % renewable electricity supply in Colombia by 2030 by proposing a methodological framework based on the development of (i) innovative scenarios that consider both social and policy willingness to incorporate renewables; (ii) a System Dynamics (SD) simulation model that encompasses regions, technologies, government, and customers; and (iii) a policy assessment of electricity dispatch and interregional exchange to achieve supply security. The main finding is that achieving a 100 % renewable electricity supply in Colombia by 2030 is feasible, but alignment between society and policy is required in the short term
