Resumo
This article explores how LGBTIQ* Christians use digital storytelling on Instagram to express religious belonging despite institutional exclusion. By analyzing the Instagram profiles of two French associations, 'Devenir Un en Christ' and 'David et Jonathan,' the study investigates how digital platforms mediate religious identity through narrative practices. Drawing from theories of digital religion and identity construction, the research applies visual and textual analysis based on the documentary method. Findings highlight two strategies: representing 'normality' through community-oriented images and using activism as resistance. The results reveal how digital storytelling creates a space where personal faith and religious identity are asserted despite institutional rejection. The examined profiles demonstrate both spiritual engagement and critical negotiation of religious belonging. They navigate between individual belief and institutional affiliation, emphasizing inclusion while challenging exclusionary practices. This study concludes that Instagram functions not only as a social media platform but also as a transformative space for marginalized religious narratives.
