Nonplace is defined by Augé in relation to “place,” as a space that does not have any historical, affective, or identity‐creating potential. It displays characteristics of extreme mobility, of excessive images, and of solitary individuality where everyone is at once at home and alone in the crowd. It is created under conditions of supermodernity and is a space of flows and of transition
