Gilbert Geis (1925–2012) was best known for his work in white collar crime. His prolific publications included a vast number of topics. In addition to books and articles on corporate and professional crime and deviance, he examined gangs, juvenile delinquency, victims, law, case study methodology, policing, prostitution, fraud, and gender. Geis received numerous awards during his career and served as the president of the American Society of Criminology. He received governmental grants to explore drug usage, rape, rehabilitation, and victims of crime. With over 500 articles and book chapters and 28 books, Geis's research and commentary represent one of the largest and varied body of works produced by a sociologist/criminologist
