Die Alternativen soziologischen Denkens Wolfgang Schluchter betrachtet zunächst drei konkurrierende Forschungsprogramme, die er als soziologischen Hegelianismus (Karl Marx), soziologischen Kantianismus (Émile Durkheim) und kantianisierende Soziologie (Max Weber) bezeichnet. In seiner Theoriegeschichte in systematischer Absicht geht er dann sowohl der systemtheoretischen Wende als auch der sprachtheoretischen Wende nach.
