While research have explored career choice factors across various fields, there remains limited understanding of the motivations behind students' decisions to pursue architecture-particularly in developing countries like the Philippines. This study aimed to identify the factors influencing students' intention to enroll in architecture programs, addressing this knowledge gap amid the high demand for architects and their pivotal role in nation-building. Based on the quantitative research method, the hypotheses were tested using data collected from 307 architecture students and architects in the Philippines through a structured questionnaire. The relationships between variables were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM), revealing interactions between constructs from self-determination theory (SDT) and the theory of planned behavior (TPB) that influence the intention to pursue a career in architecture. The study further revealed that motivation (both intrinsic and extrinsic), self-efficacy, perceived behavioral control, and the SDT domains of autonomy and competence played key roles in shaping this intention, while affective behavior and attitude served as critical factors impacting students' intention to pursue a career in architecture. However, the study found that relatedness had no significant effect on the intention to pursue architecture. These findings provided valuable insights into the factors influencing students' career intentions in architecture, offering practical suggestions and theoretical framework that higher education institutions can adopt to enhance enrollment and pursuance of architecture programs
