This article examines the cultural and linguistic indigenization manifested in Dios Ke Te Crew (DKTC), the only Galician band to rap exclusively in non-standard Galician. It also offers background on the global dissemination of hip hop, as well as a sociolinguistic and political contextualization of Galician and Galician hip hop. Based on DKTC's widespread popularity, the local and global relevance of the topics addressed in their lyrics, and their social activism, I argue that DKTC help to foster a more politically and socially engaged Galician youth while encouraging the use of Galician within this population
