Este artículo describe algunos aspectos de los patrones de asentamiento de Zinacantan, traza las relaciones de estos patrones de asentamiento de la organización ceremonial, sugiere las importantes funciones integradoras que tienen los movimientos ritmícos ceremoniales, y discute las posibles implicaciones de estos datos para la comprensión de la antigua sociedad maya
