Research on the political geography of sixteenth-century Yucatán is reviewed, and recent revisions of the traditional reconstruction advanced by Ralph L. Roys (1957) are discussed. Using data from historical sources and archaeological field surveys, additional changes in the boundaries of the provinces of Cupul, Chikinchel, and Tases are proposed
