This paper uses a Lowry type forecasting model for simulating the employment multiplier impacts in each of 81 zones of southern California of a projected increase in basic employment in one of the zones. The results show that the percentage employment increases become smaller with increasing distance, and that the spatial distribution is best expressed by a negative exponential distance function. It is suggested that detailed spatial disaggregation of multiplier impacts may overcome some of the operational weaknesses of regional multiplier analysis
