Research or cemeteries of Quillagua oasis has yielded interpretations about the cultural historical development or this valley during the Late Intermediate Period (900- 1450DC) and of the ethnic problem raised by the presence or different cultural groups-represented by textile and pottery indicators. Regarding this problem, it is asserted that the valley was occupied and dominated by populalions from Atacama who used the cemeteries Oriente(02QUI01) and Poniente (02QUI03) and its larger village (La Capilla). Based on a sequence built upon pottery, different occupational stages were established in both cemeteries: (1) the initial, corresponding to Yaye Phase (900- 1100 AD); (2) an intermediate, asigned to Solor Phase (1100- 1300 AD); and (3) the latest, asigned lo Turi Phase (1390-1450 AD
