This article is the result of a qualitative study which analyzes the construction of a patriarchal culture of women in Nias in interpreting lakhõmi. Lakhõmi is the dignity, self-esteem, glory which is formed by a person through his interactions both within the family and in the social community. The misinterpretation of lakhõmi in Nias society is increasingly strengthened by standard frondako/regulations, thus clearly creating that the status, the roles, the rights of men and women are different. The construction of a patriarchal culture in Nias has created the inequality between men and women, so that women are considered to be the second class. Through the construction of patriarchal culture in interpreting lakhõmi, both men and women were idealized by the actions, thoughts, and treatment that women are inferior from men. This study aims to analyze how strong the construction of the meaning of lakhõmi in Nias is, so that women consider it is natural, if men have higher respect, degrees, rights, compared to women. As well as providing awareness to women that the culture of lakhõmi has created injustice in relations with men
