The modern American police have been waging a war against Black communities in the United States for decades. The advancement of recording technology has, in turn, led to social awareness, partially brought about by the Black Lives Matter movement for a young, tech-savvy audience. This treatment has been brought to the forefront, finding a place online and being seen by more people than ever before. Through a thorough reading of 12 of the videos that have been created as a result of this new paradigm, this paper analyses these videos to discover the similar characteristics of these racialised interactions and determine the issues that allow such incidents to reoccur so frequently. In doing so, this paper points to the myriad ways that modern policing within a White supremacist American society haS failed Black men and boys in particular and Black people in general.
