Collaborative Governance Program Penanggulangan Stunting Di Kabupaten Majene

Stunting among children under five in Indonesia, particularly in Majene Regency, West Sulawesi, remains a persistent public health issue, and substantial efforts are still required to reduce its prevalence. Although various interventions have been implemented by the government, these efforts have not yet resulted in a significant reduction in stunting prevalence in Majene Regency, West Sulawesi. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of collaborative governance in stunting prevention in Majene Regency. Methods: This study employed a qualitative research design, with data collected through in-depth interviews. Key informants and supporting informants were selected using purposive sampling techniques. The collaborative governance process, particularly in terms of shared principles, has largely fulfilled the core components of collaboration in the implementation of stunting prevention programs in Majene Regency. Shared motivation among stakeholders was evident and met the essential elements of collaboration. The capacity for joint action was also found to be adequate in supporting collaborative efforts. Collaborative actions were generally well implemented by Pentahelix actors; however, not all relevant stakeholders were fully involved in the process. The collaborative approach contributed to a reduction in stunting cases, although the government is expected to intensify its efforts to further accelerate stunting reduction in Majene Regency. Improvements can be achieved by strengthening the government’s role as the primary coordinator to ensure policy and program coherence, while other sectors contribute through innovation, education, community empowerment, and additional funding. In this context, a whole of-government and whole-of-society approach is essential to ensure effective intersectoral integration and shared responsibility in reducing stunting prevalence
