The meaning of the phrase 'a second Royais' appearing in the Epilogue to David Burn's 1829 verse drama 'The Bushrangers' is presented. It is suggested that the phrase is an anglicised corruption of the word 'Rueil', a town near Paris referred to in the issue of highway robbery, used in the play in order to denote victims of the bushranging days in Tasmania
