L'A. examine la notion de religion liee au pluralisme parce qu'il lui semble que le probleme de la difference est une question qui reste encore a traiter dans l'avenir de l'etude de la religion et pour le progres de l'American Academy of Religion. La problematique est developpee sous forme de trois liens : relation entre religion et education, relation entre religion et pluralisme americain, relation entre religion et paradigme de la difference bien vecue. L'epilogue apporte un premier jet de conclusions
